Of course, Snopes.com says it is a mixture of truth and bull, like most forwarded emails that come our way. But this one made me think. How many times have I left a partially full bottle of water in my car for days on end? Heating and cooling over and over again. That can't be good for anyone, let alone for all the bacteria growing in there. I don't heat plastic bowls in my microwave because of the chemicals, yet I let my girls drink water that has been through roughly the same thing. OOPS. I even have those ridiculously priced but really cool looking Sigg bottles that we forget to grab on the way out the door. Not anymore though. Just thought I'd throw that one out there because I'm sure I'm not the only one who never thought of that. And now I have a good excuse to Tim as to why I'm not drinking that half full bottle of water in my car. He sent it to me after all. HA!

Hey Kim~thanks for the update and checking it out on snopes. My understanding is that those harmful chemicals are in the clear plastic disposable bottles, but not in the hard-plastic colored bottles. At least that's what I understand. PLEASE correct me if I'm wrong, 'cuz I drink out of an orange one.

I was mainly talking about the disposable water bottles, but I know that some of the reusable ones have bpa in them. You have to google the bottle type or check the number on the bottom I think. We use the Sigg (from Whole Foods and REI) and like them. They don't taste like metal like alot of stainless steel type do. Here are a few websites:

Thanks for the information on where to get the bottles. And good to know they DON'T taste like metal. That was one of the reasons I haven't purchased one yet. And no, I didn't send that one to Tim...wonder who did? Obviously someone who cares enough about all your health ;) Have a great week end!
